The little one got freaked out and ran out of the room.
We then resorted to Mike's clunky old clipper thing that works sort of. I channeled Britney Spears and tried to suavely mow a swatch down a little of my head, it didn't work terribly well. It was very uneven. Everyone took turns going over it many many many times.
I still have some bizarre patches everywhere. It feels really good though. I have a dolphin ridge on the top of my head, possibly due to my superior intelligence (joke). Kind of cool in an alien-esque sort of way.
So now I have a few little patches of longer hair, with a bunch of almost gone hair. It feels nice. Prickly. If I rub it in the wrong direction feels like people are sticking slivers of glass into my skin. So I don't do that.
I'm glad that this stage is gone, and it actually feels pretty good. Not sure what kind of hats or scarves I'll be wearing, right now I'm just letting it be.
How can you look cutie-patootie with your head shaved!? Only Amy! I actually think it looks great! I am so proud of you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It feels really normal - super short almost invisible crew cut. You always say the right thing.
DeleteSurprised but happy you went ahead and shaved your head. My sister and I helped my mom when she was going thru this same thing. You look amazing with or without hair.
ReplyDeleteIt was shedding horribly with bald patches - I just HAD to get rid of ot!
DeleteAmy, I think you are awesome!!! Who else would let her family pull her hair out and declare it fun?! But I bet is was! And now you don't have to worry about the shedding : ) Plus truly you do look cute. Although I hope you'll don a scarf or hat in this cold weather. So glad Vicki is there for you tomorrow. Sending love and hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteSince it is so not very even right now my head looks like a weird planet with screwy continents, so I will be wearing a scarf or a hat d at least for a few days until it looks less freaky
DeleteWithout the hair, the focus is on your lovely face. You are beautiful. I hope this helps to reduce the discomfort soon.
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind, but I love it. I wonder what Hat I Will wear tomorrow. It's kind of cold so I'm thinking some kind of snuggly hat. I have them all in the basket in my room and it's A lot of fun to try them all on. Thanks again for the mad Hatter party.
DeleteThe editing in this stupid blog is über screwy so pardon my typos
DeleteHow wonderful that you have your style friend there, your daughter holding the clippers, and one of your husband's gin and tonics in hand. You've got flair!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Let's have some drinks in your backyard this summer with my 2 inch hair
DeleteWill be thinking of you tomorrow, so glad Vicki is with you! Love the gin and tonic :) hugs from Houston!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
DeleteLove the Gin and Tonic during the whole process! You rock this like everything else and look wicked stylish sans hair! You are in my thoughts tomorrow! Love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYou are one sexy chick! Hair, schmair.
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I have a meeting that will be getting done right as you get started. I will pause and breathe and send you good energy and prayers. You've got those malignant cells on the run and are about to give them another beating. I want the white horse guy to sweep the good cells off their feet and gallop with them to a safe place where they can look down from above it all and see the poison coursing along carrying the malignancy with it, while remaining untouched by it.
Thinking of you today. Hair or no Hair, your beauty comes through!
ReplyDeleteJust in time for this perfect hat weather. Margaret nailed it: cutie patootie. Your face reveals your radiant spirit. Feels like a relief for the hair to be gone. Don't have that to worry about now.
ReplyDeleteIt's oddly ok
DeleteThe "bald" Eagle has landed. Rock them hats and scarves...:)
ReplyDeleteKatie
I've always admired your style. I can't wait to see all the great things you'll be doing with your hats and scarves!
ReplyDeleteUm
DeleteOMG, that is so cute! Now you have no excuse. Grab a wet suit and a bathing cap and enter a triathlon. You will do so much better at the transition without hair.
ReplyDeleteYou look like you are feeling better than last round.
Blessings!!!! your way.
